Job summary

Ampstek is seeking an experienced SAP MM / Procurement Functional Consultant to advise, configure, and maintain our global procurement fabric. You will drive the ECC to S/4HANA transition, enforcing a Clean Core and Fit‑to‑Standard approach across aviation engine manufacturing and maintenance operations.

You will lead blueprint workshops, manage complex MRO procurement, and ensure robust integration with WM/EWM, PM, PP, and FI/CO components in a multi‑site landscape.

Job Description:

We’re seeking a highly specialised SAP MM / Procurement Functional Consultant to advise, configure, and maintain our global procurement and materials management fabric. In this role, you will be hands‑on in executing our digital transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring that planned end‑to‑end implementation results are fully realised across our aviation engine manufacturing, maintenance, and design operations. Acting as a strategic functional advisor and configuration expert, you will implement a "Clean Core" architecture by driving Fit‑to‑Standard workshops, establishing robust inventory architectures, and deploying standard procurement solutions while ensuring strict compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Transition Strategy

• Business Advisory: Act as the trusted advisor to senior leadership to map high‑level aviation sourcing and procurement goals into scalable SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement blueprints.
• Coexistence Support: Design temporary operational workarounds and data bridging strategies to maintain material flow continuity during phased SAP ECC to S/4HANA rollouts.
• Landscape Strategy: Evaluate legacy customization within SAP ECC and establish a roadmap to transition towards standard S/4HANA Materials Management and Sourcing functionalities.

Technical Execution & Governance

• Expert Configuration: Execute hands‑on configuration of complex SAP MM modules including Organizational Structures (Plants, Storage Locations, Purchasing Orgs), Material Master, Business Partner (Vendor Master), and Source Lists.
• Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate end‑to‑end blueprinting, scoping, and Fit‑to‑Standard workshops with cross‑functional supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams.
• Value Realization: Own the functional delivery lifecycle to ensure that planned operational efficiencies, inventory optimisations, and cost savings are fully realised.

Functional & System Alignment

• Execution & Planning: Architect and configure the end‑to‑end processing of the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) cycle, including Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Goods Movements (MIGO), and Logistics Invoice Verification (MIRO).
• Inventory & Rotable Management: Define and build complex inventory strategies, leveraging standard SAP MM configurations to manage rotable engine components, pool assets, and high‑value serialized spares.
• Process Integration: Align SAP MM configuration closely with Warehouse Management (WM / embedded EWM) for optimised material flow, Plant Maintenance (PM) for MRO material staging, Production Planning (PP) for material requirements planning (MRP), and Finance/Conting (FI/CO) for product costing and inventory valuation.
• Automation & Robotics: Collaborate with automation leads to integrate SAP WM/EWM via standard Task and Resource Management (TRM) or Material Flow Systems (MFS) with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and automated conveying machinery.
• Mobility Infrastructure: Configure, support, and extend warehouse operational workflows using standard RF scanning, mobile data entry solutions, and voice‑directed picking technologies.
• Ecosystem Connection: Collaborate with integration teams to connect SAP MM with third‑party enterprise platforms, supplier networks, and internal Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• MRO Subcontracting: Configure and optimise complex MRO subcontracting, refurbishment purchasing lifecycles, and external service management (ESM) for internal and vendor‑managed engine repairs.

Domain & Industry Compliance

• Aviation Regulation: Ensure all configured procurement, goods receipt, and quality‑hold processes comply fully with CAA, EASA, FAA, ITAR, and AS9100 quality and export control standards.
• Traceability Engineering: Establish robust configuration for serialization and Batch Management (including batch derivation and classification) to guarantee absolute data genealogy for tracked engine components from receipt to installation.
• Clean Core Implementation: Enforce the utilisation of standard SAP features, standard Fiori apps, and standard APIs over custom ABAP modifications to protect the digital core.
• Scalable Warehousing Architecture: Architect the current inventory blueprint to ensure a seamless, non‑disruptive future expansion from classic SAP WM footprints to advanced SAP S/4HANA Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
• Predictive Frameworks: Advise on the adoption of modern sourcing technologies, including SAP Ariba integration, advanced MRP (Live MRP), and real‑time inventory analytics.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Data Migration Leads, and external systems integrators to align on data standards and cutover plans.
• Documentation: Author and maintain comprehensive Business Blueprint documents, functional configuration rationales, testing scripts (UAT/SIT), and operational training playbooks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 10+ years of hands‑on SAP MM / Procurement consulting experience within complex, global enterprise landscapes.
• MRO Expertise: Deep, expert‑level knowledge of Aerospace MRO procurement processes, including rotable exchange, repair orders, and external service processing.
• Configuration Mastery: Proven, hands‑on capability to configure deep material master structures, complex pricing procedures, automated release strategies, split valuation, and serialization profiles.
• Track Record: Demonstrated experience leading at least 3 full‑lifecycle SAP implementations, with a strong preference for large‑scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations.
• Industry Background: Extensive prior experience operating within the Aerospace & Defence, aviation engine manufacturing, or high‑tech military maintenance sectors.
• ERP Exposure: Thorough understanding of structural data model differences between SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement (e.g., Business Partner approach, simplified data models).
• Methodologies: Expert proficiency in operating within Agile delivery frameworks and utilizing SAP Activate methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement.
• Practical knowledge of integrating SAP WM/EWM with automated hardware, PLC middleware, or external Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
• Practical knowledge of integrating SAP MM with SAP Ariba or SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
• Familiarity with ITAR/Export Control configuration within SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) or standard compliance features.
