Job summary

Office Angels is recruiting an experienced Buyer/Planner for a global manufacturer in Margate. You will source UK and international suppliers, raise and manage SAP MM purchase orders, and maintain data to keep production on track.

You will coordinate supplier performance, expediting, logistics, and inventory control while seeking cost savings. The role comes with a pension, health cover, generous holidays, and share options.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing purchasing, buying or planning.
• Strong SAP MM knowledge and experience managing supplier relationships, inventory and planning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source goods and services from UK and international suppliers.
• Raise and manage MRP-driven purchase orders using SAP.
• Maintain and update SAP MM purchasing data, including source lists, info records and material master settings.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, delivery schedules and costs.
• Expedite orders and resolve shortages impacting production and aftersales operations.
• Coordinate import shipments via sea, air and courier networks.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues with internal QA teams.
• Monitor supplier lead times and drive improvements in on-time delivery.
• Assist with reporting activities including supplier KPI performance, contract management and cost-saving initiatives.
• Identify risks within the supply chain and maintain continuity of supply.
• Support colleagues within the Purchasing team as required.
