Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a SAP BTP Technical Lead for a hybrid role focusing on establishing a Center of Excellence and setting governance for SAP BTP, extensions, and integrations in a modern ERP landscape.

You will lead architecture for side-by-side extensions, drive reference architectures, and mentor teams across BAU and transformation programs. This role emphasizes secure, scalable BTP solutions and strong collaboration with EA and IT leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Software Eng or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP architecture, design, and development.
• 3+ years of hands-on SAP BTP experience with core services (Integration Suite, Extension Suite, SAP Build, HANA Cloud, Event Mesh).

Responsibilities

• Help establish and operationalize the SAP BTP COE with standards and governance.
• Define SAP BTP role in enterprise architecture, supporting S/4HANA and adjacent platforms.
• Develop reference architectures and guardrails for extensions, integrations, workflow, and data services.
• Partner with EA, IT leadership, and delivery teams to align BTP investments with priorities.
• Lead architecture and development for side-by-side extensions on BTP, aligned with clean core.
• Guide teams on in-app vs side-by-side extensibility and decision criteria.

• Ensure BTP solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with S/4 and cloud operating models.
• Lead end-to-end solution design across BTP services (Integration, Extension, Build, Event Mesh, HANA Cloud).
• Design and oversee SAP-to-non-SAP integrations using API-led, event-driven, and hybrid patterns.
• Support development teams with architecture reviews and reusable assets.
• Contribute to prototyping, design, and troubleshooting for critical initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP architecture, design, and development.
• 3+ years of recent, hands- on experience with SAP BTP (3-4 years preferred), including strong expertise across core services such as Integration Suite, Extension Suite, SAP Build, HANA Cloud, Event Mesh, and security/identity concepts.
• Experience supporting S/4HANA transformation programs, especially in brownfield or hybrid modernization environments.
• Solid understanding of clean core principles and SAP-recommended extensibility patterns for S/4HANA.
• Proven experience designing and delivering SAP extensions and integrations for ERP or large-scale SAP landscapes.

• Experience defining architecture standards, technical guardrails, and reusable patterns across multiple teams.
• Prior experience helping establish or lead a BTP Center of Excellence, platform team, or shared services model.
• Strong development background in SAP-centric technologies such as CAP, Node.js, Java, SAPUI5/Fiori, APIs, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native design.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite patterns, including API management, Cloud Integration, and event-based integration.
• Familiarity with SAP Build, workflow automation, business rules, and low-code/no-code enablement.
• Experience integrating SAP with non-SAP enterprise platforms, data platforms, and external services.
• Understanding of platform security, identity/authentication, environment strategy, transport management, and cloud operations.
• Experience with AI-enabled or data-driven solutions on BTP.
• Consulting background or experience across multiple enterprise transformation programs.

We are hiring a full-time SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Technical Lead for a hybrid role based in our Delaware or Colorado locations. SAP BTP is becoming a foundational capability for our integrations, extensions, automation, data, and future digital solutions, supporting ERP modernization, Global Trade Services modernization, process automation, and platform-based extension strategies. In this role, you will help define what an enterprise-scale BTP Center of Excellence looks like for our organization, while setting technical direction, standards, reference architectures, and governance across implementations. You will also mentor internal teams to build lasting in-house capability and reduce long-term dependency on external vendors. The position offers a full-time weekly schedule, a pay range of $127,680.00 to $199,500.00 per year plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits, with pay determined by work location and relevant factors.
