Job Description:

My client, a leading financial institution, is looking to hire a lawyer with strong experience in advising on financial crime and sanctions to join the Sanctions team in a senior position.

The successful candidate will work in a close-knit team and be embedded in the business as a subject matter expert. The role involves advising on sanctions-related risks, providing recommendations on customers and transactions from a sanctions perspective, supporting Compliance and other relevant business lines through guidance and training, and drafting and providing sanctions regulatory reporting. This role is suitable for a contentious or non-contentious lawyer seeking a business-facing role with a high level of responsibility and support.

Skills required:

  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience advising on regulatory matters related to financial crime or sanctions. UK experience is essential.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across the organization is advantageous.
