Job summary

A leading financial institution in Norwich is seeking a Sanctions Lawyer with significant expertise in advising on financial crime and sanctions. The successful candidate will provide recommendations on sanctions-related risks, support Compliance teams, and work directly with senior stakeholders. This role demands a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, capable of managing high levels of responsibility in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years PQE, gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience in financial crime or sanctions regulation in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of sanctions and ability to work with stakeholders.

Sanctions Lawyer - Leading Financial Institution, Norwich

My client, a leading financial institution, is looking to hire a lawyer with strong experience in advising on financial crime and sanctions to join the Sanctions team in a senior position.

The successful candidate will work in a close-knit team and be embedded in the business as a subject matter expert. The role involves advising on sanctions-related risks, providing recommendations on customers and transactions from a sanctions perspective, supporting Compliance and other relevant business lines through guidance and training, and drafting sanctions regulatory reports.

This role is ideal for a contentious or non-contentious lawyer seeking a business-facing role with a high level of responsibility and support.

Skills required:
  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience advising on regulatory matters related to financial crime or sanctions. UK experience is essential.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across an organization is advantageous.
