Job Description:

My client, a leading financial institution, is seeking to hire a lawyer with extensive experience advising on financial crime and sanctions to join the Sanctions team in a senior role. The successful candidate will work closely within a tight-knit team and serve as a subject matter expert embedded in the business. Responsibilities include advising on sanctions-related risks, providing recommendations on customers and transactions from a sanctions perspective, supporting compliance and other business lines through guidance and training, and drafting sanctions regulatory reports. This role is suitable for a contentious or non-contentious lawyer seeking a business-facing position with high responsibility and support.

Skills required:
  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE, gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience advising on regulatory matters related to financial crime or sanctions. UK experience is essential.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across the organization is advantageous.
