Location: Hampshire

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37/ week, Fri – Mon 9am – 6.45pm (4 day compressed week)

Salary: £35,000

Job Overview

In this role, you will manage a shift team of Water Quality Technicians who deliver water and wastewater sampling activities to meet the needs of Southern Water and the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI)/Environment Agency (EA) regulatory programme requirements.

Day To Day You'll Be

  • Co-ordinating the scheduling of sampling events and the team resource to ensure collection of samples within required timescales and delivery of regulatory sampling programmes.
  • Providing guidance to your team to ensure sampling activities adhere to Southern Water quality systems and comply with the quality accreditation standards as required under ISO/IEC 17025 and Monitoring Certification Scheme for equipment (MCERTS).
  • Supporting the Sampling Manager in the day-to-day operations and deputising in their absence.
  • Maintaining the equipment register and ensuring equipment is suitably maintained and within calibration/servicing dates.
  • Assisting the QMS Team with annual audits required for Water Quality Technicians.
  • Training and maintaining competency as a potable Water Quality Technician.
  • Providing guidance to your team; ensuring that they always adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in out of hours standby rota.

About You

You will have experience of leading a team, to include scheduling work activities, 121 team management activates, motivating a team and acting as a support.

Ideally you will have knowledge of the water industry and water sampling and a good understanding of what Southern Water do as a business.

You will need to drive and have access to a car.

Package

This role will be full time Friday to Monday on a compressed 4 day week 9am – 6.45pm.
