Job summary

Lextox is seeking a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team in Central London/ Westminster and surrounding areas on an AD HOC basis. Responsibilities include visiting pre-booked appointments, collecting samples (blood, hair, DNA), and maintaining client relations while ensuring ISO17025 compliance.

The role offers per-collection pay, initial training at the office, and travel expenses reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and must have own access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy (post-qualification).

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-booked appointments within a 2 hour radius from home address.
• Provide professional blood, hair, nail and DNA sample collection services.
• Maintain relations with clients and donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Support ISO17025 accreditation by implementing quality management systems.
• Ensure collections are conducted safely following SOPs.
• Provide statements for legal proceedings at sample collection.
• Complete all mandated training.

We have a vacancy for a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team in Central London/ Westminsterand surrounding areas, on an AD HOC/casual basis.

Candidates must be professionally qualified Phlebotomists, have recent experience in various venepuncture techniques (predominately vacutainerand butterfly) and be able to collect samples in non-clinical settings.

Collection payment:£48.67 per collection

Contract Type:Zero hours – as and whenrequired(AD-HOC). Most collection appointments are planned within normal business hours.

The Role

• Attending pre booked appointments at various locations whichwill generally be within a2 hourradius from your home address.
• Provide a professional hair,nail, bloodand DNA sample collection service.Please note other collection types may be added as per the Lextox product portfolio.
• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients, donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Implement the requirements of the company Quality management System and help maintain ISO17025 accreditation.
• Ensure that all collections are undertaken safely following the required operating procedure.
• Provide statements to support legal proceedings at point of sample collection.
• Completion of all company mandated training.

Qualifications

Whatwe’relooking for:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and MUST have own access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy, post qualification (proof of Phlebotomy competency may berequested).
• This role is subject to regular enhanced DBS checks.

Desirable:

• Experience in working within the NHS / Blood Service.
• Experience in collecting hair and DNA samples (in-house training is provided for this aspect of the role).

Additional Information

Initial training will be carried out at Lextox office, but the role will ultimately be home based. Successful applicants will be paid on a per collection basis only, plusappropriate travelexpenses will be paid, including fuel, parkingfeesand sample postage.

Collections assignments willgenerally beprimarily at either a solicitor’s office, local authorityofficeor donor’s home;appropriate PPEwill be provided for use as required.

For this position, the role will involve the taking of blood samples, where Hepatitis B vaccination isrequired.
