Job summary

Eurofins Group seeks a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist for Scunthorpe/Grimsby and surrounding areas on an ad-hoc/casual basis. Role involves home-based collections with pre-booked appointments and travel between sites, within a two-hour radius from the employee's home.

Candidates must be qualified phlebotomists with venepuncture experience and DBS clearance. Training is provided; initial training occurs at Lextox, with travel expenses paid per collection.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy.
• This role is subject to regular enhanced DBS checks.
• Experience in NHS/Blood Service and collecting hair/DNA samples (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-booked appointments within a 2-hour radius of your home address.
• Provide professional hair, nail, blood and DNA sample collection services.
• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients and donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Follow the Quality Management System and ISO17025 accreditation requirements.
• Ensure all collections are undertaken safely following SOPs.
• Provide statements to support legal proceedings at the time of collection.
• Complete all mandated training.

Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff, providing drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings.

Job Description

We have a vacancy for a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team in Scunthorpe/ Grimsbyand surrounding areas, on an AD HOC/casual basis.

Candidates must be professionally qualified Phlebotomists, have recent experience in various venepuncture techniques (predominately vacutainerand butterfly) and be able to collect samples in non-clinical settings.

Contract Type:Zero hours – as and whenrequired(AD-HOC). Most collection appointments are planned within normal business hours.

The Role

• Attending pre booked appointments at various locations whichwill generally be within a2 hourradius from your home address.
• Provide a professional hair,nail, bloodand DNA sample collection service.Please note other collection types may be added as per the Lextox product portfolio.
• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients, donors as the public face of Lextox.
• Implement the requirements of the company Quality management System and help maintain ISO17025 accreditation.
• Ensure that all collections are undertaken safely following the required operating procedure.
• Provide statements to support legal proceedings at point of sample collection.
• Completion of all company mandated training.

Qualifications

Whatwe’relooking for:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and MUST have own access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy, post qualification (proof of Phlebotomy competency may berequested).
• This role is subject to regular enhanced DBS checks.
• Experience in working within the NHS / Blood Service.
• Experience in collecting hair and DNA samples (in-house training is provided for this aspect of the role).

Additional Information

Initial training will be carried out at Lextox office, but the role will ultimately be home based. Successful applicants will be paid on a per collection basis only, plusappropriate travelexpenses will be paid, including fuel, parkingfeesand sample postage.

Collections assignments willgenerally beprimarily at either a solicitor’s office, local authorityofficeor donor’s home;appropriate PPEwill be provided for use as required.

For this position, the role will involve the taking of blood samples, where Hepatitis B vaccination isrequired.
