Award-winning independent strategic communications agency is looking for an Associate to join the team. London-based, this agency works on high-profile financial and corporate communications, crisis and issues management, political affairs, sustainability, and campaigning.

They are growing and expanding their client portfolio and revenue. They seek a team player to join their collaborative and social culture, which includes a diverse range of professionals from seasoned journalists and bankers to lawyers and communication experts.

The Role: Associate - SAM/ AD

The team is one of the largest within the company, covering financial services (banking, asset & wealth management, insurance, private equity) and housebuilding & real estate.

We are seeking a competent and dynamic financial or corporate communications professional with account management experience, preferably with financial PR background, to work within the Financial Services and Real Estate team. Clients include multinational corporations, renowned brands, start-ups, and high-net-worth private clients.

Ideal attributes include:

  • 3-4 years’ PR agency experience
  • Experienced corporate PR account manager, financial PR experience preferred
  • Proven experience in Financial Services, with understanding of asset & wealth management and strong media contacts
  • Creative, ambitious, confident in client dealings
  • Excellent media relations and writing skills
  • Team player with a collaborative, pragmatic approach
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and maintain client service
  • Keen to mentor junior team members

The role involves:

  • Understanding clients’ businesses to develop effective messaging
  • Participating in client planning and idea generation
  • Generating media coverage, proactively pitching stories
  • Understanding media landscape to support client opportunities and risk management
  • Drafting communication materials with minimal oversight
  • Supporting new business development
  • Networking with contacts, journalists, and analysts
  • Guiding and overseeing junior team members
