Team/Role Overview

The Salesperson is an intermediate-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The AVP Salesperson also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

What you’ll do

  • Trade execution across asset classes (primarily flow Credit, Rates and FX)
  • Work with partners in Trading, Structuring, Research on generation of trade ideas
  • Working along with senior salespersons to back-up coverage of key accounts
  • Assisting with pre and post-trade maintenance (operational support)
  • Support development of the desk's tools and infrastructure (e.g. client documentation, KYC)
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

What we’ll need from you

  • Relevant experience on a trading floor environment (or corporate banking with markets dealings) with a basic understanding of the various fixed income products along with a good macroeconomic background
  • Proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Language skills: Business is primarily conducted in English. Turkish knowledge is an important differentiator due to client base.
  • Master's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Very technical and analytical with a good understanding of most fixed income products and good grasp of other markets products.
  • Proficient with Excel and Bloomberg
