Job summary

Capital One in Nottingham is seeking a Salesforce Engineering Manager to lead and grow an engineering team focused on the Salesforce stack, CI/CD, and highly available services. The role emphasizes mentorship, architectural decision-making, and delivering enterprise-grade software.

You will work in a hybrid pattern with three in-office days (Tue–Thu) and two remote days, contributing to Capital One’s UK technology strategy and innovation initiatives.

You and the Role

Please apply if you are keen to work with the following technology stack. You do not need to be an expert in all of these areas; we are primarily looking for excellent problem solvers with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Salesforce Service Cloud Platform, designing, developing, and integrating enterprise software features
• CI/CD solutions at scale, enhancing delivery pipelines and automation to solve enterprise-level challenges
• High availability systems, maintaining platform service, proactive incident response, and permanent problem resolution
• Reusable patterns & standards, ensuring owned solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and highly reliable

Certifications in Salesforce Administration and Salesforce Platform Developer 1 are essential. A certification in Salesforce Application Architecture is desirable.

• You have demonstrable experience in leading, coaching, and supporting an engineering team to achieve business and personal goals
• You possess empathy and a deep understanding of the day-to-day technical and delivery challenges developers face

• You advocate for inner-sourcing and cross-engineering collaboration to maximise shared learnings and reduce waste

• You enjoy hybrid working, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in our bright offices

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday-Thursday), with Monday and Friday being dedicated work-from-home days. Our offices are designed to inspire and support you. At our Nottingham head office, you'll find an on-site gym, subsidised restaurant, and dedicated Learning Loft.
