Job summary

My Pension Expert is seeking a Salesforce Developer to design, build and maintain Salesforce-based solutions across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. You will work with internal teams and external partners to deliver practical, scalable and secure implementations that align with regulatory requirements.

You will focus on Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, data models, automation and integrations while contributing to solution design, testing and deployment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Salesforce development experience.
• Hands-on with Apex, LWC and Salesforce Flow.
• Strong understanding of data models, security, automation and platform configuration.
• Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP and middleware.
• Experience in regulated financial services environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Salesforce Developer to join our Technology team and help develop, improve and maintain Salesforce solutions that support the continued growth of the business.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where Salesforce development has a direct impact on business performance, operational efficiency and customer experience. The role will also provide exposure to new Salesforce capabilities, including Agent force AI, as we continue to explore how automation and AI can support our future operating model.

Role Overview:

As a Salesforce Developer, you will play a key role in developing and supporting Salesforce-based solutions that drive My Pension Expert’s business objectives. You will work closely with internal teams, business stakeholders and third-party partners to deliver practical, scalable and well-tested Salesforce solutions.

You will be involved throughout the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and contributing to solution design, through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing support. The role will suit someone who is comfortable working in a rapid development environment, where priorities can move quickly and solutions need to be delivered with quality, security and maintainability in mind.

Your primary focus will be Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, data models, automation, integrations and platform enhancements. Experience or awareness of Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be beneficial, but this is not a core responsibility of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and customise Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow and Salesforce platform configuration.

Build scalable, secure and maintainable Salesforce solutions that support business processes across sales, advice, customer service and operations.

Design and support Salesforce data models, security models, automation, user interfaces and business processes in line with internal requirements and platform best practice.

Contribute to the development and improvement of Omni-Channel lead and work distribution, helping the business route work effectively and improve speed of response.

Integrations and Automation:

Develop and support integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems using APIs, middleware and other appropriate integration methods.

Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure integrations are reliable, secure and aligned with business requirements.

Support data flows between Salesforce and connected systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency and appropriate controls.

Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through Salesforce development and configuration.

Full Development Lifecycle:

Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify problem statements and contribute to solution design.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions that are practical, scalable and suitable for a regulated financial services environment.

Develop, test and deploy Salesforce changes in line with internal development, release and change management processes.

Produce clear technical documentation covering requirements, solution design, implementation details and support guidance.

Testing, Quality and Deployment:

Conduct testing of Salesforce changes before deployment, including functional testing, regression testing and support for user acceptance testing.

Troubleshoot and resolve defects, integration issues and user-reported problems.

Support release activity, including deployment preparation, release notes, post-release checks and ongoing monitoring.

Follow Salesforce best practice for development, configuration, security, performance and maintainability.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Work closely with colleagues across Technology, Sales, Advice, Operations and other business areas to deliver effective Salesforce solutions.

Collaborate with other developers, administrators and third-party partners to ensure changes are well designed, well tested and aligned with business priorities.

Stay up to date with Salesforce platform developments, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Omni-Channel, Agentforce AI and automation capabilities.

Contribute ideas for improving Salesforce usability, business process efficiency, customer experience and platform reliability.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud is not a core responsibility of this role, but experience or awareness of Marketing Cloud would be beneficial.

Where required, support collaboration between Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud teams to ensure connected processes and data flows remain aligned.

Required Skills & Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in Salesforce development, with strong hands-on experience using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Salesforce Flow.

Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including data models, security models, automation, permissions and platform configuration.

Strong working knowledge of SOQL, Apex triggers, asynchronous processing and Salesforce governor limits.

Experience developing scalable Apex code with appropriate bulkification, error handling, test coverage and maintainability.

Experience developing and customising Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud.

Proven ability to deliver scalable, secure and maintainable Salesforce solutions within a business environment.

Experience working within a regulated industry, ideally financial services, would be advantageous.

Experience developing and supporting Salesforce automation and process improvements using native platform capabilities.

Experience or awareness of Omni-Channel routing, lead distribution, case assignment or workload management solutions would be advantageous.

Experience or awareness of Agentforce AI, Einstein, Prompt Builder or other Salesforce AI capabilities would be beneficial.

Third-Party Integrations:

Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications, systems and APIs using REST and SOAP services.

Experience working with middleware, integration platforms or custom integration solutions.

Strong understanding of integration best practice, security, authentication methods, error handling and troubleshooting techniques.

Experience supporting data synchronisation and data quality across integrated systems.

Deployment, Release Management & Source Control:

Experience deploying Salesforce changes between environments using structured deployment and release management processes.

Experience with Salesforce DevOps and deployment tools such as Gearset or similar platforms.

Experience using Git-based source control systems, including Bitbucket or equivalent repositories.

Understanding of environment management, deployment planning, change tracking, release documentation and post-deployment validation.

Ability to troubleshoot deployment issues and support controlled releases into production environments.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical Salesforce solutions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Comfortable collaborating with business users, third-party partners and members of the wider Technology team.

Ability to work within a rapid development environment whilst maintaining quality, security and development best practice.

Certifications:

Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required.

Additional Salesforce certifications would be advantageous, including Platform Developer II, Platform App Builder, Agentforce Specialist, Advanced Administrator or Salesforce Administrator.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification or experience would be beneficial.
