About the role

At Hargreaves Lansdown, Salesforce is at the core of our digital transformation and operational excellence. As we continue to enhance and expand our Salesforce platform, we are seeking a Salesforce Developer to focus on the technical design and solutions to complex problems. Reporting to the “Design & Build” Engineering Manager, this role will build out technical solutions aligned with best practices, architectural standards, and business needs.

You’ll work closely with two Engineering Managers who are responsible for “Design & Build” and “DevOps, QA, and Support,” as well as, for a period, Salesforce Consultants delivering larger-scale developments. This is a hands-on role, requiring a mix of technical expertise and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Development: Design, develop, and implement high-quality Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and APIs.
  • Platform Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the Salesforce platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teams across "Design & Build," "DevOps, QA, and Support," and consultant-led workstreams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on the latest Salesforce technologies, features, and trends, bringing innovative ideas to the platform.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical challenges, providing solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for technical designs, processes, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Salesforce Experience: Solid knowledge of Salesforce architecture, development tools, and best practices, with expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and APIs.
  • Development Skills: Experience in designing and developing complex Salesforce solutions.
  • Deployment Skills: Experience in release management using both 2nd Generation Unlocked Packaging and SF DevOps tooling such as Gearset.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: A track record of solving challenging technical problems and delivering robust solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications: Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II, Salesforce Certified Administrator) are highly desirable.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the technical direction of a critical business platform.
  • A collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Professional development opportunities to enhance your expertise further.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • By joining us as the Salesforce Developer, you will have a pivotal role in driving the success of our Salesforce platform and ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our business.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Good understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality.
  • Expertise in Apex, Lightning Components, and Salesforce development best practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations and APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Experience, including Lightning components and App Builder.
  • Experience with third-party applications and integrations, such as marketing automation tools, Data Cloud, Einstein.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
