Job description

Are you currently in a manual horticulture role but looking to move into something more customer-focused, without losing touch with your plant knowledge? This could be your chance to step into a dynamic sales role while still doing what you love.

The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about horticulture and interested in developing a career in sales. You'll be joining a thriving horticultural business based in Kent that supplies high-quality plants to wholesale nurseries and landscaping businesses.

Your day-to-day will focus on selling a wide range of plants over the phone to existing and prospective wholesale and landscaping clients. It's a predominantly office-based role, but there may be the occasional need to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in at the nursery. A hands-on attitude is definitely a bonus!

  1. Build relationships and manage key client accounts
  2. Proactively identify new business opportunities
  3. Deliver excellent customer service and satisfaction
  4. Still enjoy the world of plants-just in a new, customer-facing way
  5. Provide accurate quotes by email or telephone
  6. Process online orders using company retail system
  7. Liaise with customers over stock shortages or quality issues, offer compatible substitutes of in-stock lines where possible and order plants in when required
  8. Source stock for order fulfilment
  9. Submit orders for picking

About You

You're perfect for this role if you:

  1. Are currently in a manual labour role within horticulture but ready to take the next step
  2. Have a genuine interest in plants and gardening
  3. Are confident communicating over the phone and via email
  4. Love the idea of turning your plant passion into a people-focused career
  5. Have a horticultural qualification or proven experience in the horticultural industry
  6. Have a sales background
