Sales Representative (Direct Sales)

Location: Colchester, Essex

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum + OTE £35,000 (with commission)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (37.5 – 40 hours/week, 30 mins lunch)

Start Date: ASAP for the right candidate

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Top Job Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established automotive company based in Colchester, Essex. They specialise in high-quality automotive products and services, particularly in luxury leather re-trimming for a range of vehicle makes and models. With a focus on craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, the business delivers bespoke designs using premium automotive-grade Italian leather sourced from renowned tanneries worldwide.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a motivated and confident Sales Representative to join their team and drive both B2B and B2C sales.

Key Responsibilities:

B2B / Wholesale Sales:

1. Contact and follow up on leads provided
2. Visit clients as necessary to build and maintain relationships
3. Develop strategies to secure new sales opportunities
4. Place orders and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and installation
5. Provide aftersales support
6. Expand and retain the existing customer base

B2C / Retail Sales:

1. Contact leads and gather further customer information
2. Support marketing initiatives and campaigns driven by head office
3. Provide feedback to management on lead quality
4. Close retail sales confidently and professionally
5. Manage order placement and customer coordination for delivery/fitting
6. Deliver excellent aftersales service

What We’re Looking For:

1. Previous experience in a sales role, ideally within an automotive or technical product environment
2. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in both face-to-face and phone communication
3. A proactive and strategic mindset
4. A full UK driving licence (preferred due to occasional client visits)
5. Ability to manage your own workload and work well independently and within a team
