Job description

Our client is seeking an ambitious and experienced Sales and Marketing Director to lead commercial growth and drive new sales opportunities across key market sectors. This is a pivotal role in an expanding business that operates in technical sales, particularly within battery energy storage, switchgear, or related industrial environments.

This position is ideal for a proactive, results-oriented commercial leader looking to make a significant impact and potentially progress into a Managing Director role in the future. Reporting directly to the board, the successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the company's market presence, shaping go-to-market strategies, and building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy.
  2. Review and establish market pricing to remain competitive and profitable.
  3. Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets.
  4. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, fully understanding their technical needs and commercial goals.
  5. Lead and manage the inside sales team, overseeing the sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  6. Provide regular market intelligence and insights to support product development and strategic decision-making.
  7. Consistently achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.

Key Skills & Experience
  1. Proven track record in B2B sales or business development within engineering, manufacturing, or electrical components sectors.
  2. Solid understanding of digital/inbound marketing principles and how to apply them in a technical sales environment.
  3. Strong technical aptitude or willingness to learn about standoff isolators, busbar systems, and related product applications.
  4. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  5. Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  6. Effective people leadership and team management experience.
  7. Highly self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a team.
  8. Willingness to travel internationally as required (significant export business).
