Reports To: VP Sales, EMEA

Location: Remote

Travel Requirement: Up to 70% (National & International)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly driven, target-focused Sales Manager to take ownership of commercial operations across the UK and Ireland. This is a high-impact, field-based role suited to a hunter-style salesperson who thrives on new business generation, strategic account development, and long-term customer relationships in technical or regulated sectors.

The role covers a diverse portfolio of solutions and services used in clinical, research, or diagnostic applications. You'll also provide strategic oversight of service-based offerings and lead public sector tender activity across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Leadership

  • Own and deliver the commercial strategy for the UK and Ireland across a portfolio of specialised products and technical services.
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets through strategic planning, territory growth, and focused execution.
  • Personally lead key account development while prospecting and closing new business – this is a hunter-focused sales role.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline across both direct and indirect sales channels.
  • Lead forecasting and opportunity management using CRM systems.

Service Oversight & Tender Management

  • Provide strategic direction for the commercial performance of regional services (e.g., technical or laboratory-based).
  • Manage one direct report with responsibility for service sales and tender submissions.
  • Coordinate regional contributions to EMEA-wide public procurement and tenders.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Strengthen relationships with senior decision-makers, influencers, and customer stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at national exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Stay informed on regional dynamics, customer trends, and competitor positioning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, marketing, customer success, and technical teams to align commercial delivery with customer needs.
  • Ensure accurate CRM usage, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain full compliance with internal processes and external regulatory expectations.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5 years of successful B2B sales experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or a related technical sector.
  • Proven ability to consistently exceed targets and close complex sales opportunities.
  • Experienced in direct and indirect sales channels, including key account management and distributor support.
  • Confident navigating public procurement, tender frameworks, and contract negotiations.
  • Technically credible – able to communicate confidently across a portfolio that includes both product and service components.
  • CRM proficiency (e.g. Salesforce or similar) and experience managing forecasts and pipelines.

Preferred Experience

  • Sales experience with NHS, private healthcare, labs, research institutions, or regulated commercial buyers.
  • Exposure to multi-country tender-driven environments is advantageous.
  • Experience managing or mentoring others is desirable.

Education

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a scientific or technical discipline preferred.

Personal Attributes

  • Tenacious, results-oriented, and motivated by challenge and success.
  • Strategic in approach, but hands-on in execution – a natural hunter and builder.
  • Self-managing, commercially astute, and adaptable in evolving business environments.

Direct Reports

  • One commercial team member focused on services and public sector tendering.
