Our Customer Support and Services Solution Line of Business at Leonardo, a global high-tech company specializing in Aerospace, Defence, and Security, is seeking a Sales Manager to join our team. Headquartered in Italy with over 45,000 employees worldwide, including 8,000 in the UK, Leonardo offers a dynamic environment for growth and impact.

The Sales Manager will support the Head of Sales by delivering high-quality tasks, seeking out, developing, and closing opportunities for new and existing business in UK and international markets. The role involves working on strategically important projects in close collaboration with Customers, Partners, and Leonardo Lines of Business.

This position encompasses all aspects of Sales Management, including Stakeholder Engagement, Lifecycle Management, Team Leadership, the Monthly Sales Review cycle, and Risk and Financial Management.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for executing effective campaigns in the indirect fires domain, focusing on achieving contract wins, cross-project alignment, and dependency management.

What You Will Do
  • Secure order intake to meet forecast targets by managing key campaigns and opportunities.
  • Identify and develop future sales and growth opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate all bid activities with Bid Management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Customers, End Users, and Industrial Partners.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Regional and Divisional Marketing and Capability functions.
  • Ensure opportunities are tracked and reported accurately using internal procedures.
  • Manage the Business Winning budget effectively for campaign pursuits.
  • Support communications events like exhibitions, demonstrations, and conferences as needed.
What We Need From You
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of Typhoon support, the Eurofighter program, and partner nations.
  • Experience leading strategic campaigns in defence or similar sectors.
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization with complex reporting structures.
  • Proven ability to contribute to organizational goals related to commercial decisions and customer delivery.
  • Strong leadership, motivational skills, and relationship-building abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to support teams under pressure.
  • Capacity to overcome barriers and drive change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving ambitious targets.
  • Financial acumen to interpret forecasts, budgets, and variances.
