An exciting opportunity has opened for a Sales Manager to oversee sales growth and team leadership in the North of England and Scotland. This role is field-based, focusing on strategic territory development within the life sciences and related sectors. The successful candidate will bring energy, a proactive mindset, and a passion for driving results through mentorship rather than management, account development, and market engagement.
Lead sales activities and manage business development efforts across the designated territory
Provide direct line management and mentorship to field-based sales professionals through guidance and mentorship
Support the team in developing customer accounts, expanding market share, and deepening client relationships
Visit client sites regularly (60–80% of time in the field) to support sales efforts and relationship management
Collaborate with internal departments on local marketing and customer engagement initiatives
Actively contribute to lead generation and pipeline development
Represent the regional team in leadership meetings, sharing insights and feedback on commercial activities, competitors, and customer needs
Deliver regular reports and forecasts to the national sales leadership
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in life sciences or a related field
Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in scientific, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sectors
At least 1–3 years of experience in a sales management or team leadership role
Familiarity with customer engagement in academic, biotech, and pharma markets
Comfortable using CRM platforms and standard Microsoft Office applications
