A fantastic opportunity for a Sales Manager to join us at Kimpton Clocktower!
Here, you will have space to:

  • Lead yourself – we trust you to make decisions and exert your creativity to provide our guests with heartfelt human connections; we trust you to do right!
  • Make it count – you matter, and we will provide you with all the tools you need to create ridiculously personalised experiences for our guests every day!

We are looking for a talented individual to join this energetic team. Serving as the primary contact for our clients, you will need to drive sales by identifying and qualifying leads and opportunities, working with our proactive sales team to convert exciting event and group leads for this beautiful hotel. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key industry partners, including event planners, corporate clients, and agencies, to foster long-term relationships, encouraging repeat business, referrals, and positive word-of-mouth.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of phenomenal conversion, the ability to charm and sell to potential customers during site visits, over email, and on the phone. They should be able to showcase the hotel, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience along with tailored sales proposals to meet client needs.

As our Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will be:
  • New Business Development: Drive and deliver new direct business and build a strong pipeline aligned with the hotel’s strategic objectives. Ensure sales targets for corporate rooms, meetings & events (C&B), and annual marketing plans are achieved, with ROI tracking.
  • Account Management: Take ownership of corporate rate negotiations for both LNR and KNR accounts. Maintain and develop a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and maximising opportunities for the hotel.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales office to convert local and KNR-generated leads for groups and meetings. Provide sales support to the Director of Sales (DOS).
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver regular sales performance reports, track KPIs, and assess progress against targets. Analyse results and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Lead Generation: Conduct research to identify new business opportunities through social media, trade shows, and market analysis. Follow up on lost and denied leads to uncover potential business.
  • Rate Negotiation & Contract Renewal: Support the team in re-negotiating annual rate agreements to align with financial goals and KPIs.
  • Commercial Reviews & Strategy: Assist in creating consolidated sales reports and contribute to shaping sales strategies and business development efforts.
  • Client Hospitality & Engagement: Lead client hospitality initiatives, manage performance trackers, and ensure effective use of sales tools.
  • Representation & Brand Building: Represent the hotel at trade shows and industry events to build the Kimpton Clocktower brand and generate business opportunities.
To succeed as our Sales Manager, you will need:
  • A proven record of sales achievements with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel Sales Manager role.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to develop supporting strategies.
  • Knowledge of all market segments, including corporate and conference markets.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with minimal supervision, maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Delphi knowledge is desirable.
  • Experience in managing corporate room bookings and influencing decision-makers.
  • Relevant experience and good knowledge of hotel operations and collaboration with other departments.
Our Sales Manager enjoys a range of benefits including:
  • Becoming part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts family, with global opportunities!
  • Extensive training, career progression, and 2 paid days volunteering per year.
  • Subsidised childcare support, meals on duty, 31 days holiday (pro-rated to 33), sick pay, life insurance.
  • Hotel and restaurant discounts worldwide, plus discounts at over 15,000 stores.
  • Refer a Friend program and more!
