Leonardo UK is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) team. In this role, you’ll drive business growth across within the CEMA and Integrated Communications Solutions (ICS) business areas, focusing on both UK and international markets.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Campaigns, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new cross-domain business opportunities, while advancing existing Land CEMA projects in line with Leonardo’s 5-Year Integrated Business Plan (IBP).

This is a customer-focused role requiring close engagement with both new and existing clients, as well as key internal and external stakeholders. You will act as a key ambassador for our CEMA capabilities, clearly communicating their operational value and helping to shape customer requirements.

The role can be based from Southampton or Basildon, with flexible working available.

What you will do as a Sales Manager

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to meet annual order intake targets and achieve sustainable growth.

  • Engage directly with domestic and international customers, end-users, platform manufacturers, and integrators to build strong relationships and influence capability development.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including the CEMA Integrated Project Team (IPT), Key Account Managers, and regional/international marketing teams.

  • Lead and manage sales campaigns from opportunity identification through to contract award.

  • Represent Leonardo at customer sites in the UK and abroad (regular travel and occasional overnight stays required).

    We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW), CEMA, or Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), gained through operational, commercial, or technical experience.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a complex, international sales environment.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging confidently with senior stakeholders across industry, government, and military sectors.

  • Experience in writing persuasive marketing materials and proposals.

  • Solid understanding of military procurement processes.

  • High levels of self-discipline, motivation, and resilience.

  • Capable of leading teams and delivering high-quality outputs, particularly during bids and customer responses.

  • Desirable Skills

  • A track record of leading and winning significant sales campaigns in defence, aerospace, or related sectors.

  • Commercial and financial acumen, with experience in negotiating and closing complex international deals.

  • Familiarity with international trade compliance and export control regulations.
