PDM Analysis Ltd is a specialist company dedicated to the development and commercialisation of SCORG, our leading-edge software solution for the design and analysis of positive displacement machines. Our software is trusted by industry leaders worldwide.

As a small and ambitious company, we are at the beginning of an exciting growth journey. This is our first dedicated sales hire, and we are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Sales Manager who is eager to take ownership of our commercial development and help shape the future of our business.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a proactive, strategic, and technically capable sales professional to work closely with the company directors to:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive direct sales by identifying and cultivating new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with businesses, consultants, and academic institutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle – from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine go-to-market strategies.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive insights to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.

Please note: As this is our first hire of its kind, the role will be hands-on from the start. Your focus will be on executing sales directly and establishing strong foundations. The opportunity to build and lead a sales team may arise as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Growth

oDefine and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.

oInitially, focus on hands-on business development and creating scalable sales processes.

oAs the business grows, there may be an opportunity to recruit and manage new sales representatives.

Business Development & Market Expansion

oIdentify new revenue opportunities and establish relationships with prospective clients.

oConduct targeted outreach through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and industry events.

oAttend meetings with clients and relevant trade shows to promote the company and increase visibility.

oDevelop tailored proposals that clearly communicate the value proposition of our software solution.

oNegotiate contracts and pricing to secure profitable and sustainable deals.

Sales Operations & Customer Management

oOversee the full sales cycle – from prospecting to closing.

oEnsure effective use of Capsule CRM for lead tracking and relationship management.

oDeliver compelling sales presentations and software demonstrations.

oAddress client concerns, provide technical insight, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

oWork with marketing and company leadership to align sales and business goals.

oMonitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.

oProvide sales reports, forecasts, and commercial recommendations.

Who We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Understanding:

oBackground or education in engineering, sciences, or sectors such as compressors, pumps, motors, or other rotating machinery is highly desirable.

oAbility to quickly learn and articulate the benefits of technical software.

oExperience in software sales and familiarity with technical solution.

Sales Acumen:

oProven success in B2B sales, especially in a small business environment.

oConfidence in managing the full sales cycle and closing high-value deals.

oExperience selling into technical sectors or working with engineers and technical buyers.

Communication & Relationship Building:

oStrong written and verbal communication skills.

oComfortable speaking to clients with deep technical expertise.

oAbility to build long-term relationships and establish trust with clients.

Commercial Strategy & Execution:

oAbility to work independently and bring structure to a growing function.

oConfident in pricing, negotiation, and sales reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or related field.

3+ years in B2B technical or software sales.

Familiarity with CRM tools and remote sales environments.
