The Opportunity

We have an exciting career opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Sales Executive to join Clarion's market-leading Travel portfolio, which includes the UK's top consumer shows in this sector. Our flagship events include [Event Names]. The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional seeking to contribute to the success of these high-profile live events by generating revenue through selling exhibition space and sponsorship packages to travel brands, tourism boards, and lifestyle companies.

You should have solid sales experience with a proven track record in high-volume outbound sales calls, be assertive and confident, provide excellent customer service, and possess a strong sales ability. A hunger to reach and exceed targets, a tenacious 'can do' attitude, and the ability to work calmly under pressure while multitasking are essential.

As part of a collaborative, high-performing sales team, you'll benefit from a supportive environment that values initiative, ambition, and personal growth. You'll work closely with colleagues in Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver first-class events. Based within Clarion's Enthusiast Department, there may also be opportunities to get involved in other events across our wider portfolio, offering excellent career development and cross-sector experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sourcing and contracting new business and managing growth from existing clients.
  2. Making telesales calls to existing and potential exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
  3. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, and the show team.
  4. Demonstrating high sales behaviors using Salesforce.
  5. Vet and source appropriate new exhibitors aligned with event brand values and target audiences.
  6. Support the Sales Manager with managing and curating the floor plan in collaboration with the Sales and Operations teams.
  7. Stay informed about market developments and research new clients.
  8. Handle inquiries via phone and email, and produce/send mailings and correspondence.
  9. Liaise with Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams as needed.
  10. Resolve exhibitor conflicts both in-office and on-site.
  11. Maintain customer care objectives.
  12. Ensure all sales administration is completed accurately and promptly, including managing sales pipelines.
  13. Support other sales staff as needed.
  14. Attend industry functions and exhibitions, including occasional weekends.
  15. Visit clients when appropriate.
  16. Liaise with Finance to assist with deposit collection.
  17. Represent Clarion Events professionally.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven results as a Sales Executive.
  • Experience in exhibitions is desirable.
  • Understanding of event sales processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure with high output.
  • Appreciation of face-to-face customer engagement.
  • Detail-oriented and hardworking.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under positive direction.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
