Sales Executive/Business Development Manager

Territory: Northwest region (Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside)

Sector: Packaging distribution & solutions

Salary: £35,000-£50,000 (dependent on role & experience) plus bonus/commission, company car (or allowance), and flexible benefits including hybrid working, up to 27 days holiday, and an annual leave purchasing scheme.

The Role: We are looking for a flexible individual to join our sales team in the region. The role can be tailored to suit your strengths, either as a full-cycle sales role involving existing account management and new business development, or a pure new business 'hunting' role. You will interact with high-profile brands within industrial and e-commerce sectors, acting as the main contact for your customers and delivering solutions that meet their needs. Success will be measured by new customer acquisition, account growth, and gross profit targets. You will proactively identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability using a solution-led sales approach.

Key Duties:

  • Create and implement a business plan for your territory to maximize sales and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Adopt a consultative approach to tailor solutions to client needs, maintaining strong knowledge of all packaging solutions.
  • Prospect for potential new customers and convert prospects into increased business.
  • Conduct cold calls within your market to build a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with potential clients and leverage your network.
  • Identify decision makers within client companies and research potential clients.
  • Plan sales approaches, presentations, and pitches.
  • Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets.
  • Maintain strong sales administration, including CRM (MS Dynamics), to follow up on leads and enquiries.
