We're looking for a Technical Solutions Consultant to join our Media & Broadcast team, responsible for designing and delivering technical solutions for a set of assigned BT Media & Broadcast accounts. You’ll act as the main technical contact for these customers, working closely with account directors, client managers, and other technical consultants to support account development and growth. A strong understanding of broadcast television, broadcast networks, and media technology is essential, along with experience in the Media & Broadcast industry. You’ll collaborate with technical delivery and operations teams to ensure services are delivered correctly the first time and help identify and shape new business opportunities by creating tailored, effective technical solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex technical challenges, and being part of a team that delivers industry-leading broadcast solutions.
• Understand the needs of Media & Broadcast customers and design solutions using BT’s capabilities and product portfolio
• Ensure all proposed solutions align with customer requirements and deliver the desired outcomes
• Prioritise time and effort on high-value sales opportunities where technical input is essential
• Support the customer engagement and contact strategy to build strong, lasting relationships
• Work closely with customers to ensure timely input and prevent delays in project delivery
• Stay up to date with the latest technical knowledge, market trends, and BT product offerings
• Promote the full range of BT Media & Broadcast services, as well as broader BT capabilities
• Contribute to customer satisfaction goals, including quarterly survey targets
• Support the bid process by providing technical input and annexes for RFIs and RFPs
• Help shape BT’s future portfolio by feeding insights into product and proposition planning
• Ensure solution designs are both commercially viable for BT and effective for the customer
• Provide technical assessments and recommendations to support deal approvals by senior technical leaders
• Solid experience in the broadcast and media industry
• Strong understanding of IP and MPLS transport technologies used in broadcast environments
• Familiarity with compression and multiplexing systems, as well as content origination platforms
• Knowledge of digital media workflows and asset management systems
• Understanding of satellite transmission systems and technologies
• Technical knowledge of BT Media & Broadcast’s products, services, and capabilities (or similar industry experience)
• Proven track record in designing and delivering media and broadcast solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• 50% on target bonus.
