Job description

Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager / Field Sales Engineer required for a global manufacturer of bespoke engineering products. The Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager / Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing a sales pipeline from lead generation to the final negotiation. You will be responsible for calling new customers and attending meetings in person and via Teams to create new business opportunities and win new projects. The Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager / Field Sales Engineer will work remotely and be based in the South of England such as Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Hampshire. You must be able to read engineering drawings / technical drawings for this position. This role will suit someone who has a background in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, HND, HNC) and prior experience as a Sales Engineer, Business Development Executive, Business Development Manager, Field Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or someone who has a technical engineering background and is looking to move into a sales position.

Package: £45,000 base salary, Car allowance, Phone + Laptop, Generous commission structure, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, Pension Scheme, Remote position with external travel meeting customers in the South of England up to the Midlands.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a sales pipeline from lead generation through to the final negotiation.
  2. Call new customers and attend meetings in person and via Teams to create new business opportunities and win new projects.
  3. Read technical drawings to support customers with new contracts and provide technical solutions.
  4. Give presentations to new prospects on services offered.
  5. Work towards sales targets.
  6. Liaise with the internal sales team to ensure the customers’ requirements are met.
  7. Remote position covering the South of England up to the Midlands, ideally you will be based somewhere in the south including Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Hampshire.
Requirements:
  1. Prior experience as a Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Business Development Executive, Field Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or a technical background with the desire to move into a sales position.
  2. A background in mechanical engineering (BEng, HNC, HND) will be advantageous but not required.
  3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings / engineering drawings.
  4. Full UK Driving Licence.
  5. Willingness to work remotely, meeting customers in the South of England up to the Midlands.
