Job Title: Sales Engineer

Location: Milton Keynes

Role: Full-time, Hybrid

The Job:

As a Sales Engineer, you will be the technical-commercial link between ETAP and our customers. Your focus will be on identifying and engaging new customers, driving adoption of our electrical digital twin solutions, and supporting existing accounts through consultative, value-based sales engagements. You'll combine hands-on electrical knowledge with strong communication skills to demonstrate how ETAP’s cutting-edge technology can solve real-world engineering challenges.

Your role will be pivotal in expanding ETAP’s presence in the market, empowering customers to harness our intelligent electrical digital twin solutions for the design, manufacturing, operation, and optimization of their power systems. You will focus on achieving sales targets while delivering high-value, solution-oriented engagements to both new and existing clients.

Willingness to travel across the designated territory (approx. 50–60% PA) interacting with prospective customers).

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify and develop new customer relationships within all the electrical segments like Design Firms, OEMs, End Users, Etc.
  • Solution Selling: Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to show the impact and value of ETAP’s software suite.
  • Account Growth: Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers to drive, upsell and cross-sell opportunities, increasing ARR.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute detailed account plans, from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing deals, ensuring revenue targets are achieved and forecasts are met.
  • Collaborative Selling: Work closely with presales, marketing, and technical support to develop and execute territory growth strategies.
  • Market Expertise: Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive products to effectively position ETAP’s solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Deliver compelling sales presentations that address specific business needs, showcasing the value and unique differentiation of ETAP’s technology.
  • Issue Management: Proactively address and resolve customer issues, collaborating with internal teams to ensure satisfaction.
  • Continuous Development: Stay up to date on AVEVA’s product offerings and sales methodologies through ongoing training.
  • Pipeline Management: Use Salesforce and CPQ to manage your sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasts and reporting.
  • Background as an electrical engineer, technician, or similar – you understand customer challenges from practical experience.
  • Business development experience, where your focus is on hunting and securing new customers and business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver against an individual sales target.
  • Experienced in selling SaaS or DaaS (Data as a Service) solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to close complex software and product agreements, owning the entire sales process.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management abilities, able to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Proven track record in solution-based direct sales, including relationship-building at all levels within client organizations (preferably in electrical engineering, automation, or software solutions).
  • Experience with SaaS or industrial/engineering software sales.
  • Knowledge of digital twin concepts, energy systems, or grid modelling tools.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience using MEDPICC methodology or a similar framework would be advantageous
