Sales Engineer EDM Consumables & Solutions

Are you a technically minded sales professional with experience in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM)? This is a rare opportunity to join a long-established supplier of precision consumables and technical solutions, supporting some of the most demanding manufacturing environments in the UK.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to support and grow a customer base within the EDM machining and tooling sector.

Youll be responsible for advising on the application of specialist materials, components, and consumables used in wire and spark erosion processes working closely with production engineers, toolmakers, and purchasing teams to deliver value and performance.
Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and grow relationships with EDM users across toolmaking, aerospace, automotive, medical, and precision engineering sectors
- Provide technical support on graphite, copper, brass, wire, and other erosion-related materials
- Recommend tailored solutions to meet demanding machining tolerances and production requirements
- Generate quotations, conduct on-site visits, and maintain strong customer service standards
- Identify new opportunities and work closely with internal teams to meet demand efficiently

Youll Need:

- Technical sales experience in EDM or precision manufacturing environments
- Solid understanding of EDM processes (wire erosion, die-sinking, etc.) and the materials involved
- Ability to read technical drawings and communicate machining needs effectively
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
- Engineering qualification or relevant hands-on experience (toolroom or applications background desirable)
