The purpose of the Sales Director role is to deliver new business revenue and profit margin in line with the UK budget and medium-term plan.

The Sales Director will guide the strategic direction of services to establish the company as the "go-to" provider for digital products in the water sector.

This role is also vital in ensuring the sales team can meet budget and medium-term goals through coaching, mentoring, training, and collaboration with Digital Solutions teams across regions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and maintain a pipeline of quality prospects to achieve sales targets.
  2. Deliver outstanding customer service and aim to exceed expectations.
  3. Promote a culture of 'right first time' to enhance customer experience.
  4. Build long-term relationships with key customers through regular engagement and understanding their needs.
  5. Coordinate with engineering and operational managers to align commercial activities with operational constraints.
  6. Ensure smooth implementation of new business and maintain positive customer experiences.
  7. Foster positive relationships across divisions and regions to support business growth and profitability.
  8. Share information on industry changes and competitor activities with stakeholders.

Ideal candidate profile:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
  2. Extensive post-degree experience in software sales and business development.
  3. Knowledge of optimization techniques applicable to water and wastewater systems.
  4. Experience in leading high-performing sales teams to meet targets.
  5. Strong financial and commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills.
  6. Ability to identify multiple business drivers and adapt strategies accordingly.
  7. Understanding of compliance requirements and competitive environments.
  8. Experience in managing service levels, customer satisfaction, and loyalty.
  9. Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

This is a remote position across the UK with travel required throughout the region.
