Job description

Alexander James Recruiting is working with a global manufacturer of specialist automation products seeking a Sales Director to both develop their customer base across the UK and manage a small team of sales professionals across Western Europe. With a strong package and an excellent company culture and brand presence, this is a great opportunity for a successful sales professional within capital equipment seeking a role with great scope and challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the companies UK customer base
  • Attend customer sites and carry out detailed analysis and business proposals to provide the right solutions
  • Manage, coach & monitor a small sales team of 3-5 across Northern and Western Europe with occasional travel
  • Play a vital part in driving forward the companies various products and services and identify new market opportunities
  • Provide a strategic sales approach both in terms of targeting and winning new business and with the teams overall strategy to hit target
  • Liaise with transport businesses and warehouse integrators in order to provide the right solutions

Requirements

The role naturally requires an individual with a proven and varied skillset. You will preferably have both proven sales and management experience though this is by no means essential. Our client are seeking a sales focused professional with strong commercial ability and a strategic mindset from a capital equipment background. It is crucial you have the ability to approach customer with a solutions based approach and have the ability to look at the solutions by providing an analytical perspective and can provide customer’s with detailed business case studies. The role requires working with blue chip customer’s and therefore an individual with the ability and experience of working with such clients is crucial. Industries of particular interest are material handling, warehouse automation/conveyors, storage solutions or related sectors within intralogistics but the company are open to individuals from other, technical sales positions who have worked in a solutions capacity.

Our client are a UK based manufacturer of highly specialist, automated technology serving a variety of industries on a global basis and assisting specifically in helping their companies load successfully. Working with a high number of blue chip clients internationally they additionally work with a large number of distributors across the world and also focus on the maintenance of conveyor systems. The business has a reputation for providing bespoke solutions to its customer base within air cargo, automotive, packaging and more and they work heavily with transport companies to provide their specified loading solutions. Having gone through a number of changes over the company now requires a new Sales Director to increase UK sales and manage a team of established sales professionals across Northern Europe.
