Our client is the market leading distributor of manufacturing equipment to blue chip companies in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and electronics sectors.

With over 40 years of trading, they have built a solid reputation for supplying the best, gold standard capital equipment across the manufacturing industries they serve in the UK and Ireland. They are known for their in-house technical engineering expertise, customer-centric solutions, and project management supporting delivery, installation, and service of manufacturing equipment throughout the sales process.

They are a premier distributor of pharmaceutical production equipment, serving clients like GSK and AstraZeneca, with excellent repeat business in the UK & Ireland.

Reporting to the Managing Director, a new role of Sales Director has been created to grow and manage sales of manufacturing equipment to the Life Science Sector across the UK & Ireland. The company supplies equipment for final assembly, fill, finish, and testing, including packaging inspection, automation, sterilisation, and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities of the Life Science Sales Director UK & Ireland include:

  • Growing the Life Sciences Business Unit Equipment Sales in the UK & Ireland
  • Reviewing and adding suppliers to the product range
  • Developing "The Life Science Brand" in key accounts, especially Tier 1 & Tier 2 pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Maintaining communication with customers about order status and projects
  • Managing a sales team in Ireland and liaising with Irish equipment suppliers
  • Building relationships with major pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the UK & Ireland
  • Developing, presenting, and executing a sales plan and strategy for the next 3-5 years with clear milestones and KPIs

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in senior B2B sales of capital equipment within the regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
  • A current network of decision-makers in Tier 1 pharmaceutical companies like GSK and AstraZeneca
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland
  • A full UK driving license and valid passport; ability to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • A customer-focused, motivated scientific sales leader with strong interpersonal skills
  • A track record of growing multi-million-pound equipment sales for distributors or manufacturers
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
