Sales Director - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing - UK & Ireland

Uncapped commission

Our client is a market-leading distributor of manufacturing equipment to blue-chip companies in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and electronics sectors.

With over 40 years of experience, they have built a reputation for supplying high-quality capital equipment across the UK and Ireland, supported by in-house technical expertise, customer-centric solutions, and project management.

This is a premier distributor of pharmaceutical production equipment, serving clients like GSK and AstraZeneca.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director will grow and manage sales of manufacturing equipment to the Life Science Sector across the UK & Ireland, focusing on final assembly, fill, finish, sterilisation, and packaging equipment.

Aims & Objectives:

  • Grow the Life Sciences Business Unit Equipment Sales in the UK & Ireland
  • Review and expand the supplier base for the Life Sciences Product Range
  • Enhance "The Life Science Brand" in key accounts, especially Tier 1 & Tier 2 pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding order status and projects
  • Manage one Irish Life Sciences Salesperson and Irish Equipment Suppliers
  • Increase sales through direct engagement with major pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the UK & Ireland
  • Develop and execute a strategic Sales Plan with milestones and KPIs for the next 3-5 years

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in B2B sales of capital equipment within the regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, particularly in fill, finish, sterilisation, packaging, vial filling, capping, or solid dose packaging
  • A current network of decision-makers in Tier 1 pharmaceutical companies like AstraZeneca, GSK, etc., with experience selling machinery into final assembly, fill, test, and finish areas
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland
  • A full UK driving license and valid passport; able to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • A highly motivated scientific sales leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A track record of growing multi-million-pound equipment sales for distributors or manufacturers with diverse product lines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
