Sales Director and Head of Global Network Banking Sales, Europe

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Sales Director and Head of Global Network Banking Sales, Europe.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver portfolio revenue growth in line with GTS Europe and Americas targets, whilst ensuring robust profitability and returns
  • Maintain a high degree of sales intensity across the frontline team supporting GNB clients
  • Deepen customer relationships by championing internal collaboration with CIB and transaction banking partners including Global Payments Solutions, Markets and Securities Services
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creative thinking when developing market leading client solutions for trade and working capital, leveraging the full product suite, from documentary trade and guarantees to receivables finance and supply chain solutions
  • Deliver a market leading customer experience in partnership with colleagues across GTS including client management, implementation, services, risk, product and portfolio management and distribution
  • Collaborate where appropriate with Industry Group leads to cultivate relationships and opportunities for key clients in their sectors
  • Actively contribute to GTS sales and structuring discussions to elevate the level of client advisory and the delivery of bespoke, structured and working capital solutions to clients
  • Ensure connectivity to the wider trade finance industry, building thought leadership and adapting to regulatory and market infrastructure changes
  • Understand economic trends and their impact on GTS; identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure
  • Act as a role model for the Sales and wider GTS Europe and Americas team, ensuring the team actively pursues training and development opportunities
  • Navigate the European context, leveraging hubs in UK and CE, to provide the best outcomes for clients.
  • Work as a player-coach, covering a portfolio of strategic clients and managing a team with dual reporting lines into country heads of GTS in some cases

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve safe and sustainable revenue growth and sales targets through a client and solution-centric approach
  • Detailed knowledge of the trade finance business and working capital
  • Broad corporate/commercial banking and relationship management experience
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills set
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment while making material progress with clients and stakeholders across the global HSBC network
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of priorities
  • Ability to use strong judgement to identify and resolve problems
  • Awareness of global economic and political factors and their impact on GTS with the ability to anticipate trends and respond proactively

The base location of this role is London operating a Hybrid working model.
