Red Acorn Recruitment is assisting an engineering company in the Worksop area to appoint a Sales Director. This role will develop into a Managing Director position with UK operation responsibility and P&L oversight.

You will lead a hands-on sales effort across the UK and internationally, review and structure the sales function, travel regularly, and report to the European head office as the business grows.

Sales Director

Salary to £90k

Based Worksop, Nottinghamshire

An ambitious Sales Director is required for an engineering company based in the Worksop area. This role will quickly develop into a Managing Director role for the company. The company design and manufacture Material Handling Systems along with full service and repair solutions.

Within this demanding role you will initially be responsible for reviewing and adding structure to the current sales structure. This will be a hands‑on sales role driving new and existing business in the UK and Internationally whilst also leading the activities of the sales team. Due to the hands‑on nature of the role, there will be regular travel. When not travelling to clients you will be expected to have a presence within the office.

Once established into the Sales role the position will quickly develop into a Managing Director position. You will take responsibility for the UK Operation, with full P&L responsibility, regularly reporting into the Head Office based in Europe.

Candidates will have strong Senior Sales Management experience gained within an engineering environment. This experience will ideally have been gained within Material Handling Solutions or similar mechanical engineering environment. You will have experience in leading and driving a sales team whilst also developing your own business opportunities.
