Vacancy Description

Are you an experienced sales leader looking to enhance your career with one of UK's leading premium roofing product manufacturers who pride themselves on consistently delivering a high-quality sales solution and unrivalled customer service to commercial, residential and industrial customers?

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing all sales activities to achieve the company's objectives whilst leading and developing both the internal and external sales teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Sales Forecasting:
    Generate detailed sales projections and budget plans.
    Track progress toward targets and refine plans based on results.
  2. Client Relationship Management:
    Develop and sustain strong relationships with major clients and stakeholders.
    Respond proactively to client concerns to improve satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Training and Development:
    Deliver training programs and tools to enhance team capabilities.
    Encourage ongoing professional growth and a learning-focused culture.
  4. Strategic Planning:
    Design and execute sales strategies that align with organizational objectives.
    Evaluate market dynamics and competitor movements to uncover growth opportunities.
  5. Team Leadership:
    Guide, inspire, and oversee the performance of the sales team.
    Establish clear expectations and provide regular performance assessments.
  6. Cross-Department Collaboration:
    Partner with marketing, product, and other teams to ensure alignment on sales efforts.
    Provide insights to support product innovation and marketing improvements.
  7. Reporting and Analysis:
    Compile regular updates on sales outcomes and market trends for senior leadership.
    Leverage analytics to support strategic decisions.
  8. Budget Oversight:
    Administer the sales budget with a focus on resource efficiency.
    Explore ways to reduce costs while boosting profitability.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Previous experience in building envelope or heavyside products
  • Experience in leading and motivating a sales team
  • Understanding of the commercial and specification routes to market
  • Ability to produce and deliver presentations at a high level
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft operating systems i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Have the confidence to take decisions and the ability to problem-solve
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the UK Building Merchants sector
  • The ability to read and understand construction drawings

This role could also suit an individual seeking career advancement currently employed as either National Sales Manager, Senior Sales or similar.

Location/Area: National (Central UK preferred)
