Job Title: Sales Director – Power & Distribution Transformers (Data Center Sector)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a high-performing Sales Director to lead and expand our business in the data center industry, with a strong focus on power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, established relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, and EPCs, and a strong technical acumen in power equipment.

This role will be responsible for driving strategic growth, leading complex sales cycles, and collaborating with engineering, marketing, and product teams to deliver tailored solutions for mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development & Sales Strategy

• Develop and execute a national (or global) sales strategy targeting data center clients (hyperscalers, colos, EPC firms, electrical contractors).

• Identify new sales opportunities and strategic partnerships in the data center segment.

• Meet or exceed revenue and margin targets for transformer products.

• Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including procurement teams, electrical engineers, consultants, and specifiers in the data center ecosystem.

• Understand and influence client specifications and requirements related to power distribution equipment.

• Provide technical support and product expertise throughout the sales cycle.

• Manage a high-performing sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts to leadership.

• Lead negotiations, proposal development, and contract finalization.

• Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Market Intelligence & Product Positioning

• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within the data center and power distribution industries.

• Provide feedback to product development teams to influence R&D and new product introductions.

• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field.

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in B2B sales of power equipment (preferably transformers) in mission-critical or data center markets.

• Strong knowledge of power and distribution transformers, power system design, and electrical distribution standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI, NEC).

• Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles and close high-value deals (£1M+).

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Experience working with CRM systems and modern sales tools.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree (MBA or MSEE).

• Existing relationships within major hyperscalers (Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft) or large colocation providers (Equinix, Digital Realty, etc.).

• Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEC, and energy efficiency standards related to transformer manufacturing.
