Job summary

Bensons for Beds is seeking a Sales Consultant to help customers choose the best sleep solutions and to drive sales through excellent service. You will earn uncapped commission on every item, with a base salary and target-based OTE, and have the chance to progress through training and store targets.

Training, tools and support are provided to build knowledge and confidence, with flexibility for peak trading periods including evenings, weekends and holidays. A dynamic team environment awaits you.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing or sales roles is preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Willing to learn product knowledge and benefits to help customers.

As a Sales Consultant at Bensons for Beds, you’ll have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission on every item you sell, on top of your base salary and target-based OTE. The more you sell, the more you can earn — there’s no ceiling on your earning potential.

But this isn’t about simply selling beds. It’s about helping our customers find the right products to improve their sleep and wellbeing.

Using your natural ability to connect with people, your product knowledge and our unique sleepPRO™ technology, you’ll get to know each customer, understand what they need and recommend the right mattress, bed and sleep products to help them get their perfect night’s sleep.

And you don’t need to be a sleep expert from day one. We’ll give you all the training, tools and support you need to build your knowledge, develop your confidence and hit the ground running.

What you’ll be doing

Every customer is different, so you’ll use your personality and communication skills to make their experience a great one. You’ll:

• Welcome and engage with customers, creating a warm and memorable shopping experience

• Ask the right questions to understand their sleep needs and recommend the right products

• Use your product knowledge and sleepPRO™ technology to confidently advise customers

• Spot opportunities to maximise every sale — with the chance to earn commission from every item you sell

• Work towards individual and store targets, while keeping customer experience at the heart of everything you do

• Help your team keep the store looking fresh, welcoming and ready for customers

• Get involved in all aspects of running a successful store

Our busiest times are when our customers are free to shop — evenings, weekends and bank holidays — so flexibility during these peak trading periods is important.

We know you have a life outside of Bensons too, so where you work weekends, we’ll make sure you get your days back during the week. There may also be opportunities to earn additional income through overtime.

We’re looking for people who genuinely enjoy helping customers and making a sale.

You’ll be confident talking to different people, naturally curious about what they need and motivated by achieving great results. You’ll have a can-do attitude, be resilient when things don’t go to plan and be willing to try new approaches to help your store succeed.

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a customer-facing or sales role, but we’re more interested in your attitude, personality and ambition than ticking every box.
