Are you a commercially driven professional with a strong background in sales, bids, and contract management? We are currently recruiting for a Sales and Commercial Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of high-performance engineering. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing commercial agreements, supporting the sales process, and driving successful bid and contract outcomes with customers.

The Role:

As the Sales and Commercial Manager, you'll play a critical role in overseeing the full sales and bid lifecycle, from early-stage opportunity development through to final contract negotiation. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure proposals and contracts are commercially sound, legally compliant, and strategically aligned with the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the preparation, negotiation, and execution of bids and commercial contracts.
  • Drive the sales process by supporting proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract terms.
  • Negotiate Terms & Conditions, NDAs, and service agreements with customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure alignment from bid initiation through to contract signature.
  • Maintain standardised commercial templates, legal terms, and contracting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policy, ethical standards, and international trade legislation.
  • Support risk management through clear communication of commercial risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide commercial insight to long-term business planning and strategic growth forecasts.
  • Represent the company at industry events and maintain current knowledge of commercial and legal best practices.
  • Act as a liaison with external legal counsel as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales, commercial or bid management environment.
  • Track record of successfully managing high-value bids and contracts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Professional membership of a recognised commercial, legal, or procurement institute (desirable).
  • Experience in the Defence, Automotive, or Engineering/Manufacturing industries.

£44,000 - £66,000 Annual salary (based on relevant experience).

Good benefits to include bonus.
