We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Orthopaedic business.

We're looking for a tenacious, self-motivated, and driven individual to join our sales team at a graduate level. Ideally the role will suit someone with a biomedical science, sports science or physiotherapy or similar related background, but we're open to speaking with candidates with any academic background that are driven to succeed, who have a passion for the industry, with good learning agility.

Are you someone who has excellent communication skills, with the ability to flex your approach dependent upon your audience, build rapport and strong collaborative working relationships? If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you!

Essential Job Functions

  1. Acquire, maintain and keep up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the territory, including information on current customers, business potential, purchasing protocols, competitor activity and market trends.
  2. Report monthly on sales activity, business prospects and competitor activity, and, at least, on a quarterly basis on sales performance and territory business plans.
  3. Continuously assess the territory and market to identify new business opportunities with existing customers and opportunities to add to the customer base.
  4. Provide technical advice and training to customers on Smith+Nephew products to ensure high levels of user competence etc.
  5. Follow up of all sales leads, customer enquiries and requests for assistance to ensure sales opportunities are improved and the customer experiences a first class service.
  6. Liaison with colleagues from other parts of Smith & Nephew business to ensure that cross-business opportunities within the territory are improved.

Requirements

  1. Education to a degree level standard or equivalent, preferably in science based subject
  2. Excellent organisation, and communication skills
  3. Ability to network and build strong rapport with customers and stakeholders
  4. Strong negotiation and influencing skills
