Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Provides prompt, courteous customer service by discovering guest’s needs.
  2. Rings up all sales on cash register, or point-of-sale equipment properly and accurately, using suggestive selling techniques.
  3. Maintains ethical integrity and honesty while handling money, checks, and other types of payment received for products sold.
  4. Follows policies and procedures established to prevent loss of cash and merchandise due to actions by employees, vendors, and customers. Ensures proper cash handling procedures and policies are followed.
  5. Safeguards cash and merchandise; follows company robbery prevention and reaction procedures as provided in the Emergency Response and Reporting Procedures and Policy Manual.
  6. Performs duties necessary to maintain internal and external store cleanliness, in addition to basic upkeep so that floors, windows, restrooms, food preparation areas, shelves, and counters stay clean and presentable at all times.
  7. Reacts to and reports customer complaints tactfully and promptly.
  8. Follows company policy and procedure and all laws governing restricted beverage and tobacco sales.
  9. Performs service transactions in accordance with company policy, such as lottery sales and redemption, vendor coupon redemptions, and company-approved credit cards.
  10. Adheres to company policies related to safety and security, looking for and eliminating safety hazards, and reporting unsafe acts or conditions to management.
  11. Prepares required accident/incident reports and immediately reports such activities to the Facility Manager.
  12. Maintains gas island cleanliness, safety, and stock levels (oil spills, windshield fluid, pumps, etc.).
  13. Complies with all food safety behaviors, including proper handling procedures, temperature requirements, and established sanitary standards.
  14. Receives products from vendors, following correct procedures, and assists management in vendor check-in.
  15. Maintains merchandise, including proper rotation, storage, stocking, and pricing promptly and accurately.
  16. Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and audits.
  17. Maintains knowledge of all product offerings and promotions.
  18. Completes all required paperwork accurately (vendor invoices, job assignment sheets, etc.).
  19. Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company uniform and personal appearance policy.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.
  21. Reports to work on time and when scheduled.
