PPG | Refinish Distribution in Basingstoke is seeking a Sales Assistant/Driver to join our team at the Basingstoke Depot. You will serve customers at the counter and over the phone, assist in colour matching, and support stock replenishment.

Occasional driving for customer visits or deliveries is required. We offer in-store training, a clear progression path, and a comprehensive benefits package including generous holiday entitlement and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused individual with IT literacy and drive for service excellence.
• Experience in a customer-facing role desirable but not essential, with in-store training provided.
• Full UK manual driving licence required for the role.

• Structured in approach to tasks and able to meet customer ETAs.

Position Summary

We now have an exciting, permanent vacancy for a Sales Assistant / Driver within our Refinish Distribution division. We’re looking for a customer focused individual to become a key member of our friendly and supportive team. Previous experience in a customer facing environment and a good understanding of IT systems is desirable, but not essential, as we will support you all along the way with in-store training. A full UK manual driving license is needed for this role.

A day in the life of…

As a Sales Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Serve customers over the phone & on the trade counter in a friendly and professional manner.
• Working within the paint mixing area which may include using colour tools to identify colours and provide an accurate match.
• During peak times you may be picking orders or replenishing stock via a warehouse management system.
• Occasional driving for customer site visits or deliveries may be required.
• Full training will be provided with ongoing training plans put in place to provide the opportunity for personal growth and career development.

Working hours:

• 40 hours per week between 7.00–18.00
• Monday – Friday (No weekends)
• 25 days Holiday (3 days allocated for Christmas) + Bank Holidays

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence essential (Maximum 3 points).
• Previous experience in a customer facing environment is desirable.
• Good communications skills with a positive customer focussed attitude.
• Good understanding of IT systems is preferred.
• Structured in approach to tasks and ability to meet customer ETA’s.
• Passion for delivering high quality customer service and driving business growth
