Sales Assistant for AJW Witham

Branch: Witham

AJW Distribution Ltd is an independently owned family-run company that supplies roofing, cladding, and general building materials to contractors, builders, building merchants, and the general public.

At AJW Distribution, we prioritize excellent service and always go the extra mile to satisfy our customers’ needs. We are seeking a sales assistant who will serve customers by selling products and services, ensuring a positive customer service experience that aligns with our motto, “Where service comes first.” The successful candidate will communicate professionally and enthusiastically to encourage repeat business.

What will I be doing?

Daily responsibilities include:

1. Generating sales by targeting existing and new customers via telephone and email.
2. Serving customers at the trade counter with fast, effective service and advice.
3. Promoting additional sales through upselling.
4. Responding promptly to customer inquiries.
5. Handling stock line quotations using system pricing, emailing quotations, and following up.
6. Chasing quotations to completion, recording reasons for lost quotes.
7. Processing orders accurately and ensuring correct delivery dates.
8. Ordering non-stock items and supporting stock cycle counts.
9. Providing administrative support and answering incoming calls promptly.
10. Supporting yard staff with picking, packing, loading, and offloading materials.
11. Wearing the correct uniform and PPE at all times.

Monthly reporting to the Branch Manager on quotations, prospects, and suggestions for improvement.

Experience in the roofing industry is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
