About LondonEnergy:

LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team working across various North London sites, making a positive impact on the environment and local communities.

By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough energy to power 80,000 homes annually and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team at the Kings Road Reuse & Recycling Centre Shop.

This role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality retail services, managing the sale of donated goods both in-store and online. Working alongside another Sales Assistant, you will maintain shop presentation and oversee daily operations, both collaboratively and independently.

This position is suitable for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

The shop operates Monday to Saturday, and you must be available to work on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday each week, with flexibility for the other two days.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in-store, and responding to queries via phone and email.
  • Process returns and refunds for in-store and online purchases, and manage face-to-face order collections.
  • Operate cash registers, reconcile receipts, and report discrepancies to the RRC Manager.
  • Receive, sort, and manage stock deliveries, inspecting goods for resale and pricing high-value items appropriately.
  • Ensure effective merchandising and display of goods both in-store and online, maintaining clear pricing and a tidy environment.
  • Use Excel to catalogue inventory, maintain accurate pricing records, and assist with stock control.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally retail, is desirable.
  • Experience handling cash and card payments, with skills in cashing up, banking, and reporting figures.
  • Friendly, helpful, approachable, with strong customer service skills and confidence engaging with the public.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a strong sense of commercial awareness, planning, and organization.
  • An understanding of reusable materials and a genuine interest in sustainability is beneficial.
  • A good level of numeracy (ideally GCSE or equivalent) and basic computer skills.
