Position: Sales Application Engineer

The successful Sales Application Engineer will assess applications to gather essential information pre-sale, supporting the sales team in obtaining the correct product specifications for equipment proposals.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess applications to gather essential information pre-sale, supporting the sales team in obtaining the correct product specifications for equipment proposals.
  2. Assess incoming orders to ensure accuracy of commercial details and technical requirements.
  3. Calculate product costs and prepare proposals.
  4. Liaise with customers to achieve drawing approvals on complex orders.
  5. Highlight the need for design guide changes and provide input when required.
  6. Compile and retain a database of drawings for current and previous designs.
  7. Produce documentation to enable pre-sales support, manufacture, assembly, test, post-sale support, and compliance with statutory and customer requirements.
  8. Participate in the Technical Enquiry process and attend application meetings.
  9. Conduct and assist with product testing to validate application details against order requirements.
  10. Occasionally conduct customer visits to support the field sales team.
  11. Assist with general sales order processing as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Engineering qualification and/or extensive experience in a similar technical role.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to prioritize workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office at an advanced level; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident at all organizational levels, including dealing directly with customers, distributors, or agents.
