About the Role

As a Sales Application Engineer, you will create cost-effective electrical and systems integration solutions for projects in collaboration with the Engineering team to meet customers’ needs and comply with relevant regulations. • Identifying and discussing any technical, commercial, or competitive risks with the Business Development Manager (BDM) and the engineering team.
  • Developing engineered solutions by collaborating with internal departments to meet customer requirements. If possible, propose alternative value-engineered designs that identify cost savings while ensuring compliance with all customer and legislative requirements.
  • Obtaining accurate quotations for high-cost items and using internal estimating schedules to produce precise cost estimates.
  • Communicating with the customer regarding the attractiveness of our tender and the timing of potential order receipt. Obtain feedback on the reasons for any lost tenders.
  • Handover ordered projects to the engineering and production teams, and communicate the relevant commercial and engineering details.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Technical understanding of control panels and PLC/SCADA system integration.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area requirements and health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of commercial principles, including terms, conditions, and gross margins.
  • Proven success in project tendering and sales with strong operational and supply chain knowledge.
  • Results-driven with a creative, innovative approach in automation engineering services.
  • Broad knowledge of the manufacturing and automation industry.
