Overview

My client, based on the outskirts of St Ives, Cambridgeshire, are recruiting for a Sales and Business Development Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for managing the sales department, ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the sales process, and working closely with the MD in formulating sales targets and strategies.

Salary: £38-42,000 DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Own transport required

Key responsibilities
  • Manage the sales team; recruitment and training; development and appraisal; inspire, motivate and lead; promote the company’s culture of respect and teamwork.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers; identify new markets and business opportunities; increase and maximise opportunities with existing customers.
  • Set and achieve targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth; compile and analyse sales figures.
  • Implement the company’s commercial and business strategy within the sales department; ensure the MRP system is used effectively within the sales process.
  • Responsible for achieving a high level of customer satisfaction; manage to an agreed budget; forecast and monitor monthly customer sales (gross profit) figures.
  • Capture costs and profit accurately for each sales order; work with the MD to ensure resources are available to meet sales targets.
  • As a member of the senior management team, contribute to implementing the long-term strategy of the business; keep abreast of competitors in the market.
