Job summary

Hotel Chocolat in Skipton is looking for a Sales Advisor who can warmly welcome customers and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat, sharing knowledge about our premium range and ensuring an amazing customer experience.

No retail experience is required; you’ll learn on the job with product tastings, demonstrations, and allergen checks, while you build a personal connection with shoppers and promote gift options.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat.
• Discovering customers’ needs and reasons for their visit through friendly conversation.
• Delighting customers with product demonstrations and tastings, checking allergens.
• Closing the sale and recommending additional products such as gift bags.
• Processing transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Responding to customer feedback and supporting deliveries and stock management.
• Maintaining the appearance of store and café areas to a high standard.
• Upselling to customers in a fast-paced café environment.

What You’ll be doing:

• People are the reason you love retail!
• You’ll warmly welcome every customer and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat.
• Discovering your customers’ needs and reason for their visit through friendly conversation.
• Delighting your customers through product demonstrations and tasting sessions, ensuring to check for allergens throughout your time with them.
• Closing the sale and confidently recommending additional products such as gift bags.
• Genuinely thanking your customer for shopping with us, ensuring they leave happy.
• Processing transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Responding to customer feedback.
• Working with your team to support with deliveries and stock management, keeping the delivery area is kept clear and tidy in line with our health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining the appearance of the store and café areas to a high standard.
• If your store has a café area, you will be preparing hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks according to our guidelines and processes whilst keeping the area immaculately clean.
• The customer experience is just as important, however given the pace of a café, you will focus on upselling to your customer.
• Support where you can to the success of your store and team.
