Job summary

Hotel Chocolat in London is seeking a Sales Advisor to warmly welcome customers, share product knowledge, and deliver an exceptional experience at our Waterloo Station store. No prior retail experience is required; a genuine brand ambassador approach and customer focus are key.

You will engage customers with tastings, manage transactions, assist with stock and deliveries, and maintain a high standard of store and café presentation.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat with a warm, personal touch.
• Identify customer needs through friendly conversations and advise accordingly.
• Demonstrate products and conduct tastings, checking allergens during interaction.
• Close sales and suggest additional items such as gift bags.
• Thank customers and ensure they leave happy with a positive experience.
• Process transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Respond to customer feedback and adapt service as needed.
• Collaborate with team to assist deliveries and stock management while keeping areas tidy and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
• If café is present, prepare hot/cold drinks, ice creams and snacks per guidelines while upselling.
• Support store and team to drive success.

What You’ll be doing:

• People are the reason you love retail! You’ll warmly welcome every customer and immerse them in the world of Hotel Chocolat.
• Discovering your customers’ needs and reason for their visit through friendly conversation.
• Delighting your customers through product demonstrations and tasting sessions, ensuring to checkfor allergens throughout your time with them.
• Closing the sale and confidently recommending additional products such as gift bags.
• Genuinely thanking your customer for shopping with us, ensuring they leave happy.
• Processing transactions, refunds and exchanges at the till.
• Responding to customer feedback.
• Working with your team to support with deliveries and stock management, keeping the delivery area is kept clear and tidy in line with our health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining the appearance of the store and café areas to a high standard.
• If your store has a café area, you will be preparing hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks according to our guidelines and processes whilst keeping the area immaculately clean. The customer experience is just as important, however given the pace of a café, you will focus on upselling to your customer.
• Support where you can to the success of your store and team.
