Job Description:

This role is suitable for candidates with a food science degree and B2B sales experience in any food category, or those involved in customer-facing food technologies in beverages or sugar reduction sectors.

WORKPLACE TYPE: Manchester Hybrid / Fully Remote UK

The Account Manager / Sales Representative manages customer sales and technical activities within the assigned portfolio to drive business growth, aiming to surpass annual targets. Responsibilities include managing existing customers and developing new business aligned with segment strategy.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Business growth – Achieve sales goals, create cross-selling opportunities, and acquire new customers.
  • Account Plans – Develop and implement account strategies, communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Price and contract management – Negotiate prices and contracts to maximize value and align with business goals.
  • Customer projects – Identify growth opportunities, initiate projects, and ensure project briefs are met.
  • Innovation & technical support – Serve as the point of contact for technical support, introduce new ideas, and promote new products.
  • Customer Experience – Build relationships, enhance customer satisfaction, and manage customer data accurately.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management – Collaborate across functions to support sales activities.
  • Data Management – Ensure data accuracy in CRM and forecasting processes.
  • Continuous learning – Stay updated with industry and sales developments.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Proven sales experience in food ingredients or B2B food industry, with a record of delivering projects and growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of food processes.
  • Extensive UK market knowledge.
  • Passion for sales and growth, ability to work within a matrix organization, and willingness to travel within the UK.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of savoury, dairy, bakery categories is a plus.
